Junior Project Engineer
The Jr. Project Engineer efficiently plans, designs, carries out and completes projects assigned to him, in order to meet operational requirements and ensure long-term infrastructure and equipment reliability. He works with other engineers in the group as well as external consultants to achieve his assigned objectives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans a project’s phases, and prepares project schedules and cost estimates;
Reviews third parties engineering reports and calculations;
Prepares designs and performs the necessary calculations;
Manages and coordinates refurbishment projects assigned to engineering firms and contractors and ensures work is performed in compliance with plans and specifications;
Supervises work and provides guidance to technicians as required;
Provides technical support to work crews and follows up plan and specification change requests.
REQUIREMENTS
Possess a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering;
Be a member of the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec;
Have strong analytical, problem-solving and priority-setting skills;
Be able to work independently and with other specialists from various disciplines (engineers specializing in civil engineering, electrical engineering, etc.), environmental specialists, technicians, construction contractors, plant operators, etc., while also demonstrating superior communication skills, both written and oral;
Show advanced proficiency in relevant computer programs, such as spreadsheets and databases in the MS Office suite of applications;
Demonstrate thoroughness, autonomy and leadership.
